As we say farewell to 2016, let’s look forward to 2017! Blueflint have got some lovely gigs lined up to start off the new year! On Monday 16th January, we’ll be at Soundhouse @ the Traverse in Edinburgh. We always love playing for Sound House – they put on a great programme of music in the capital, so get yourself along to the Traverse Bar on 16th!
Towards the end of the month, we’re south-bound for Carlisle to see some familiar faces and perform a gig in new arts venue The Old Fire Station. If you’re in that neck of the woods on Friday 27th January, we’ll see you there!
Keep an eye on the Blueflint gigs page for more performances over the course of the year
Clare and Deborah will play two more gigs for 2016 as Martha’s Parlour at Leith’s Woodland Creatures – this coming Wednesday 7th December and again on 21st. We’ll be back again in the new year for more performances at this absolute gem of a venue on Leith Walk! The Blueflint five-piece are back in action with gig dates in the new year – see our Gigs page for more details!
Yes folks, it’s goodbye to October and hello to wet and wild November! Tidy away your Halloween costumes, get your winter coats on and head down to Woodland Creatures, Leith tomorrow night – Weds 2nd November, 8.30pm to hear Martha’s Parlour play an intimate set of heart-felt songs and dark ballads, with a gusty handful of songs taken from Blueflint’s repertoire and a generous pinch of old-time tunes!
The leaves are hitting the pavements in Edinburgh, and Clare and Deborah are continuing a highly enjoyable residency at Woodland Creatures in Leith under the auspices of Martha’s Parlour. The duo are performing on the first and third Wednesday of every month and are back on Wednesday 19th October with more fine tunes! To whet your appetite listen to a couple of songs from the Blueflint repertoire:
Takes more than a little time from first album ‘High Bright Morning’
High country from second album ‘Maudy Tree’
More of the band’s videos are on our Videos webpage
The band are busy booking in for gigs during 2017 – watch this space!
Clare and Deborah’s ‘Martha’s Parlour’ will head back to the woods tomorrow night when they resume their residency at Leith’s Woodland Creatures . We’re delighted that the fantastic fiddle player Jo Jeffries has kindly offered to stand in for Deborah this week, as she’s down in London performing in the Gate Theatre’s ‘Diary of a Madman’. So you can expect fiddle and banjo intertwining in old-time ballads and songs, as well as a few pickings from our original material.
We kick off at 8.30pm and will return on the first and third Wednesday of the month. So as autumn creeps in upon us and the nights get darker, get yourself cosy with a drink in the lovely surrounds of Woodland Creatures and enjoy the tunes!
This Friday sees us donning the sun cream and sun hats to head to the coast for a performance at Fringe by the Sea. It’s our first time at Fringe by the Sea, and we’re really looking forward to it, not least as we’ll be performing in the Palais Des Glaces Spiegeltent which will be a lovely venue to play in!
Our set kicks off at 3.00pm. Tickets available from http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2564982 – see you there!
