In the shadows of Ben Nevis!

Monday afternoon sees us nursing lukewarm lattes in a bid to make use of the free Wifi in one of Fort William’s newer establishments. Today sees us well-rested after a couple of great gigs in Ullapool and Stornoway. Friday night’s gig in Ullapool’s Arch Inn had a great atmosphere, and they just couldn’t help getting up and jigging to the yodels of ‘Skippin Skattin’!

After a fairly gentle boat trip across to Lewis (still floored us all!), we performed at An Lanntair, and had a great night – thanks to everyone for making us feel so welcome! It’s a great venue and a real local asset. Luckily our return boat trip was later on in the afternoon yesterday…a few cobwebs needed to be blown away after Saturday night’s revels! We sailed in glorious sunshine, and the trip down to Fort William via Loch Ness was just grand!

Time to go and get warmed up for tonight’s gig at the Ben Nevis Inn!

Ah, this is what it’s all about! Having a great time in the trusty silver van clinging to the curves on the roads! Wednesday’s gig in Inverness’s Hootananny’s was great fun – the place was jumping! We headed north on the coastal road to Wick, where we had a truly memorable experience at Lyth Arts Centre. Nestling in the farmland of Caithness, the venue is a wonderful space to play in and we thoroughly enjoyed performing for what was a lovely audience. William Wilson and his team at Lyth have created an absolute gem at Lyth, and our merry little band was well looked after! Hope to be back there again soon!

After a wee jaunt to the mainland’s most northerly point this morning in the Caithness sunshine, we’re now over in Ullapool, getting ready for tonight’s gig at the Arch Inn.

Blueflint are delighted to announce that they have been selected as one of the participating acts in this year’s ‘Made in Scotland’ showcase as part of the Edinburgh Fringe!
